The financial architect perspective

At Athora, we are building a solid future. You lay the foundations of financial strategies that help the organization grow and thrive. Your vision and expertise ensure that we achieve our financial goals and realize our ambitions.

What you need to know about us

We are Athora Netherlands, an insurance company with the well-known brands Zwitserleven and Reaal. We are mainly involved in pensions and life insurance in the Dutch market. We are part of a European group with offices in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Italy. We are a strong company with over one million customers and we want to grow into one of the most important players in the rapidly changing pension market in the coming years. That is why we are looking for people who are not afraid of change, who are getting things done, who have the ambition to achieve results and who therefore know how to get the best out of themselves and their team. Smarter together, we call it.

What are you going to do?

The Liabilities & Projections department focuses on the individual and group life portfolio and the underlying actuarial model infrastructure, the valuation of liabilities, and insurance technical risks (RM/SCR Life/BEL). The department plays a leading role in terms of IFRS 17 technical knowledge, analysis, and Contractual Service Margin (CSM).

In this role, you will be responsible for executing processes within the actuarial domain. As a subject matter expert on your process or domain you will act as a point of contact to explain the results and test inputs and results for plausibility. You will need to judge when to escalate issues or make proposals if the results or processes are not explainable. Additionally, you will understand your role in the entire actuarial chain, including the various metrics.

Are you an actuarial specialist that understands and can execute end-to-end processes, actuarially trained and familiar with insurance products, legislation and programming languages and actuarial software? Together we'll continuously match the role with your development and interest.

You are eager to learn and develop, you are a team player with a pro-active attitude.  You combine analytical skills with the ability to communicate the results of your analysis in simple and clear language. You are able to execute processes and also consider continuous improvement to these processes.

What do you get from us?

You get about 900 colleagues who all think they work for a special company. You will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to the socially relevant theme of pensions; we ensure that over a million Dutch people have a good income when they stop working after retirement or add an extra career.

You will have the opportunity to really make a difference when it comes to sustainability, because we have a leading role in our business operations and investments for years. Of course, you will get a (flexible) workplace at one of our offices that are among the best 7% in the world.
