What are you going to do?

For our expanding Investment Office we are seeking a data-driven Junior Investment Manager for the Asset-Backed Investments team.
The Investment Office manages the own account investments of Athora Netherlands and is responsible for Athora's investment strategy. In executing this strategy, we utilize our strategic relationship with Apollo Global Management. We leverage Apollo's expertise, dedicated infrastructure and access to differentiated investment opportunities, to deliver attractive, risk-adjusted returns for our customers and shareholders.

The team consists of 22 investment professionals across three teams: Corporate Investments, Asset-Backed Investments and Liability-Driven Investments. The team operates from Athora Netherlands' head office in Amsterdam. 

• Supporting the growth of the private asset book.

• Performing portfolio monitoring analysis.

• Conducting credit and valuation reviews.

• Supporting credit & suitability analysis of new deal flow in (private) loans:

  • Commercial real estate lending

  • Fund financing

  • Collateralised loans

  • Infrastructure lending

  • Sponsor-backed corporate lending (supporting the Corporate Investment team if/when needed with investment deal flow)

• Supporting the monitoring and management of the real estate equity portfolio.

• Conducting due diligence investigations, financial analyses and market updates.

• Preparing investment proposals and presentations for the Investment Committee and management team.

• Liaising with internal risk management, legal, finance and operational teams.

What do we ask from you?

• Up to 2 year relevant work experience, for example in Investment banking, Debt Advisory, Structured credit or Corporate lending.

• Strong affinity with financial markets and investing.

• Fluency in Dutch is preferred, but not essential.

• A master degree in Econometrics, Data Science, (Quantitative) Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).

• Relevant professional qualifications, such as CFA, VBA, CAIA or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.

• Data-driven approach and ability to extract key insights out of large data sets.

• Attention to detail, being diligent and proactive.

• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.

• Excellent writing and communication skills in English.

Salary per month: based on CLA scale 15, the range is € 4.416,79 to € 5.760,92 based on 36 hours.
