What are you going to do?

Athora Netherlands' Investment Office consists of 20 specialists with deep investment knowledge, leveraging its strategic partnerships with tier one Asset Managers (including Apollo Global Asset Management) to access differentiated private investment opportunities.
To help manage our growing private asset book we are currently looking to expand our team with a Junior Investment Manager - Private Markets.

You will help with the execution of Athora Netherland's (Private Asset) investment strategy, oversee deal origination and portfolio management while maintaining a strong relationship with Apollo - Athora's strategic Asset Management Partner - and other third-party managers. This role provides the opportunity to engage with key players in the global financial market, including London, New York, and Zurich, where you will build strong relationships with key stakeholders and leading Asset Managers.

Our current portfolio includes strategies across Western Europe, North America, and other developed economies, with a focus on investments which generate strong cash flow, offer strong downside protection, and make a positive ESG impact:
- Sponsor-backed Middle Market & Large-Cap Private Debt
- Private Investment-Grade Capital Solutions.
- Private and Preferred Equity opportunities.
- Liquid Credit including Syndicated Leveraged Loans and High-Yield bonds.
- Asset-Based finance and hybrid Capital Solutions.

As an investment professional, you will be responsible for asset selection, monitoring investment opportunities, developing insights, conducting reviews, and ensuring the delivery of expected financial performance. Furthermore, you will prepare and present investment proposals to the Investment Committee for approval.

What do we ask from you?

As a Junior Investment Manager, you will have several tasks and responsibilities:

• Manage the private credit transaction flow

• Conduct due diligence investigations, financial analyses and market updates

• Prepare investment proposals and presentations for the Investment Committee and management team

• Liaise with internal risk management, legal, finance and operational teams

• Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies, considering both opportunistic and defensive ideas during the investment horizon

• Maintain relationships with external parties, such as asset managers, investment funds and advisors

• Participate in investment conferences and investor meetings

• 2 to 4 year relevant work experience, for example in Investment banking, Debt Advisory, Structured Credit or Corporate lending

• Strong affinity with financial markets and investing

• Strong entrepreneurial drive with developed people skills and commercial sense next to having an attention to detail, being diligent and proactive

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team identify and analyze new investment opportunities in private credit and equity

• A master's degree in economics / business studies / investment management

• Excellent writing and communication skills in English

• Fluency in Dutch is preferred, but not essential

• Relevant professional qualifications, such as CFA, VBA, CAIA or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.

Salary per month: based on CLA scale 16, the range is € 5.318,01 to € 6.738,82 based on 36 hours and an attractive performance bonus linked to company and investment results.
