We are Athora Netherlands, an insurance company with the well-known brands Zwitserleven and Reaal. We are mainly involved in pensions and life insurance in the Dutch market. What are you going to do?

The Modelling Department is a team of 10 professionals who play a critical role in shaping the company's model landscape. We design and maintain models across the full balance sheet, including asset modelling, insurance liability & actuarial delling and reinsurance transaction modelling.

Our work underpins key financial decisions and reporting and ensures robust risk management and compliance.

As a Modelling manager you will take ownership of developing and enhancing core models such as the insurance liability models (e.g. RAFM) and reinsurance transaction model. You will:
- Build, test models and ensure high quality coding & model performance
- Support Solvency II (SII), IFRS 17, and BMA reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Commerce, Finance Actuarial & Capital management

This is a hands-on role with significant impact on strategic transactions and financial reporting.
You will work on complex, high-impact projects in a collaborative environment, contributing to innovative modelling solutions that drive business growth and regulatory compliance.

- Onboard new pension buy-out and reinsurance deals into the liability modelling platform
- Present model results to stakeholders for sign-off
- Maintain and enhance models for product changes, new features, and assumption updates
- Support financial reporting of SII, IFRS 17 and BMA
- Collaborate with IT & data management teams to enable innovative modelling process

Vereisten

What do we ask from you?

  • Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Services

  • Solid modelling expertise. Experience in life insurance product modelling is a plus

  • Proficiency in one or more programming environments: C++, C#, Python, R, VBA, SQL, Matlab

  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective model design and to propose smart modelling solutions

  • Pursuing actuarial qualification (such as AG, IFoA etc.) is a plus

- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement

Salary per month: based on CLA scale 17 HAY, the range is € 5.839,41 to € 7.785,88 based on 36 hours.
